Denver weather: Rain, brisk winds in the city with snow in the mountains

Brisk winds gusting up to 34 mph and morning rain are forecast Thursday for the Denver metro area, snow showers and cool temperature are expected in the high country.

Before 9 a.m., there’s a 20 percent chance of rain, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

It will be partly sunny with a high temperature of around 61 degrees, the NWS says.

There’s a chance of snow showers in the mountains and the high temperatures in the mountains will be between 33 and 44 degrees, the weather service says.

On Good Friday, which is also the first day of Passover worship ceremonies, Mother Nature will cooperate with sunny skies and temperatures near 74 degrees, according to the NWS.

Saturday, the 20th anniversary of the Columbine massacre, it will get even warmer, with a high temperature of around 79 degrees, according to meteorologists.
