Pueblo man dead after trying to stop theft of Jeep

PUEBLO — A Colorado man is dead after he was dragged along a street while trying to stop his SUV from being stolen.

Police say 22-year-old Jesse Garcia’s Jeep was running outside his home and at some point a man jumped in and began driving off. KKTV reports Garcia clung to it but fell off about a quarter-mile away. He died by the time he reached the hospital.

The vehicle was abandoned a few miles away. The suspect hasn’t been found.
