A rundown of the top high school football games coming up in Week 7 across the state:
No. 2 Cherry Creek (6-0) at Arapahoe (5-1)
When/where: 7 p.m. Thursday at Littleton Stadium
Last meeting: Cherry Creek 48, at Arapahoe 31, on Sept. 16, 2017
What: Thanks to a shutdown defense, the Warriors keep finding ways to win close games, including four in a row in which they held opponents to 12 or fewer points. Continuing that trend will be a tall order against 5A Metro East League rival Cherry Creek, which has a deadly precision passing game piloted by quarterback Julian Hammond. The junior has 1,279 yards and 19 TDs on 91-of-136 passing with just four interceptions.
No. 6 Regis Jesuit (6-0) at No. 10 Legend (6-0)
When/where: 7 p.m. Friday at EchoPark Stadium
Last meeting: at Regis 36, Legend 7, on Oct. 5, 2018
What: For the first time since a Week 1 win over Pomona, the undefeated Raiders will line up opposite a ranked opponent. The Titans bring in a two-headed rushing attack led by Blake Rarog (142 carries, 873 yards) and Connor Eise (59-623) and a defense that has forced 11 turnovers, including five interceptions. That secondary will be tested by Regis sophomore QB Nicco Marchiol, who has the third-most passing yards in Colorado (1,409) this season, per MaxPreps.
Denver East (4-2) at Smoky Hill (6-0)
When/where: 7 p.m. Friday at the Stutler Bowl
Last meeting: Smoky Hill 30, at Denver East 20, on Oct. 5, 2018
