Thornton crash closes two lanes on I-25 northbound, major delays expected

Anyone whose evening commute involves traveling on northbound Interstate 25 should consider alternate routes.

Two lanes on northbound I-25 in Thornton are closed after a two car crash that resulted in minor injuries, the Thornton Police Department tweeted Wednesday. Police advise drivers to use Washington Street or Huron Street as alternative routes as traffic is funneled through the two open lanes.

The cars collided just south of the highway’s 104th Avenue exit. Traffic is slow and there’s no timetable for the lanes to reopen as crews wait for tow trucks to separate the vehicles, a police spokesperson said.
