Aurora detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that happened in the Morris Heights neighborhood Thursday night.
The victim had at least one gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital where he died, said an Aurora police news release.
Police were called to the area of 30th Avenue and North Xanadu Street on a report of a shooting at about 8:19 p.m., the news release said. The officers found an injured man in the road.
The release does not mention any suspect arrests.
“Investigators believe this is an isolated incident and that there is no danger to the general public,” the police news release said.
The Adams County coroner’s office will release the name of the victim after they identify him and contact his relatives, according to the news release.
